PT Math Innovation Fellow
Part-time, in-person 1:1 math tutoring at a charter school in San Francisco. Diagnose needs in real time and refine your practice with a team of expert educators and researchers.
What you'll do
- Deliver individualized 1:1 mathematics instruction in person at a charter school in San Francisco
- Work up to about 7 hours per week
- Diagnose student strengths and gaps in real time and adjust instruction accordingly
- Design instruction without reliance on a fixed curriculum, applying research-based methods
- Prepare for sessions and complete structured reflection / decision journals (student learning state, instructional choices, what was effective, planned adjustments)
- Track student progress through ongoing diagnostic assessments and adjust based on data
- Engage in coaching, observation, and feedback cycles
- Contribute to a culture of excellence and shared learning across tutors
Who you are
- Demonstrated track record of driving strong student academic growth
- Strong understanding of instructional practices in 3rd–4th grade mathematics
- Ability to diagnose learning needs and respond with precision and flexibility
- Strong relational skills and ability to motivate diverse learners
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
- Able to work in person at a charter school in San Francisco
Nice to have
- Experience with high-dosage or 1:1 tutoring models
- Familiarity with evidence-based instructional strategies
- Comfort operating in a high-autonomy, performance-driven environment
- Experience using assessment data to guide instruction
Compensation & commitment
- $120/hour, paid hourly via TriNet
- Part-time, up to ~7 hours per week
- In person at a charter school in San Francisco, not virtual
