Partnerships
Senior Director of School Partnerships
The study only happens where a district says yes. Own that end to end — find the partners, get the agreements signed, and keep the relationship strong enough that school leaders want us back the following year.
What you'll do
Find the partners
- Build and own a pipeline of district and charter partners for the 2027–28 study
- Open doors cold and warm — superintendents, chiefs of schools, charter network leaders, and the researchers and funders who can introduce you to them
- Make the case for a study design that asks real things of a district: classroom access, coordination with their assignment process, and space inside the school day
- Judge fit honestly — which partners make the research defensible, and which quietly compromise it
Get them signed
- Run each partnership from first conversation through executed MOU and Data Use Agreement
- Work district legal, procurement, and data-governance review to a close, with counsel where needed
- Coordinate with the research team so sampling, consent, and assessment requirements survive contact with a real district calendar
- Negotiate the operational details that decide whether a site works: physical space, internet, devices, bell schedules, and staff time
Keep them
- Be the person a principal calls when something goes wrong, and the reason they still take the call in year two
- Hold Modern Bloom to its commitments on privacy, editorial control, and what we promised families
- Bring what you learn back into how we pitch, staff, and run the next partnership
Who you are
- A track record of closing complex agreements with school districts or charter networks — not just meetings taken, but partnerships signed and launched
- Fluency in how districts actually decide: the board calendar, the procurement path, the data-privacy review, and who really holds the yes
- Credibility with superintendents and school leaders, and the judgment to know when to push and when to wait
- Comfort carrying a research agenda into rooms that care about students first — you can explain a randomized design without making it sound like an experiment on children
- Willingness to travel to partner schools and to be present when a launch needs a body in the building
Nice to have
- Experience inside a district or charter network, on the side of the table that signs
- Familiarity with FERPA, data-sharing agreements, and district IT and privacy review
- A relevant existing network — we are developing partners in Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina, and Chicago, among others
- Experience standing up a program in schools, not only selling into them
Compensation & commitment
- Salary: $170,000 – $220,000 annually, depending on experience, plus benefits
- Full-time, remote, with regular travel to partner districts and schools
- Starting this fall, to land partnerships for the 2027–28 school year
